2 lbs chopped dates
2 cups boiling water
2 tsps baking soda
2 tbsps butter softened
2 cups sugar
2 tsps cinnamon
1 tspcloves
2 eggs beaten
2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups pecans chopped
Pour boiling water over chopped dates and mix. Add 2 tsp soda to dates at beginning of mixing.
Cream butter, sugar and spices. Add eggs, flour & nuts. Combine all ingredients.
Bake in 2 large greased loaf pans 1-1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.
